About DRATEC
DRATEC Drahttechnik GmbH is a German manufacturer of welding wires and rods.
The programme covers filler metals for stainless and unalloyed steels, nickel, aluminium, copper, titanium, magnesium and zirconium, hardfacing consumables and submerged arc welding wires.
The company was founded in 1983 and has its own production, with headquarters and plant in Krefeld and a branch in Remseck am Neckar. Production is approved to TÜV 1153.
Own production also means the delivery can be adapted: spool weight, packaging, labelling and the stamping of rods are made to order. Contract work is part of the business too — well-known European wire manufacturers have DRATEC spool their wire and straighten and stamp their rods.
Around 500 tonnes of wire are held in stock, so most qualities and dimensions ship from inventory.

Summa-Chem d.o.o. is DRATEC's authorised distributor for Croatia and the region. The catalogue lists 131 products across 12 material groups, each with its DRATEC designation, classifications, chemical composition, mechanical properties, available forms and its documentation.

Datasheets and approvals
Each product carries its datasheet. For part of the range DRATEC also issues approvals (TÜV, DB, CE, ABS) — these are listed with the product, and the scope of each is set out in the corresponding document. Safety data sheets are issued per material group.

Frequently asked
Is Summa-Chem an authorised DRATEC distributor?
Yes. Summa-Chem is an authorised distributor of DRATEC Drahttechnik GmbH for the products it sells on the Croatian market.
Where does the technical data on the product pages come from?
Classifications, chemical composition, mechanical properties, shielding gas and available forms are given per DRATEC's technical documentation for that product.
Why are the chemical composition and the nominal analysis listed separately?
They are two different figures. The catalogue table gives limit values for the composition; the datasheet gives the nominal wire analysis (Richtanalyse). They are listed separately and labelled — merging them would produce numbers matching neither.
What do the product photographs show?
The packaging for the delivery form — spool, rods in a box or basket coil. DRATEC does not photograph each individual article, so each picture says it shows the delivery form.
Do you show prices?
No. Price is on request. The form lets you pick a diameter and state a quantity so we can quote that exact form.
Do the listed approvals mean the product is certified for my application?
Not necessarily. Approvals are shown as DRATEC publishes them, with a link to the document. The scope of each approval should be checked in that document.
