Field of application
DT-1.4547 is an austenitic stainless steel which, owing to its high molybdenum content, exhibits very high resistance to corrosion such as pitting and crevice corrosion as well as to stress corrosion cracking. It was originally developed for use in halide-containing environments such as seawater. Owing to its high nitrogen content, this grade has a higher mechanical strength than most other austenitic stainless steels. It is recommended to carry out welding with the lowest possible heat input, since, owing to its stable austenitic structure, it could react somewhat more sensitively to hot cracking.
