Product description
A heavy-coated basic electrode designed for welding 1.25% Cr-0.5% Mo creep-resistant steels (SA-387 Grade 11, ASTM A182 Grade F11, ASTM A335 Grade P11 and similar materials) used in steam generation systems, refineries, petrochemical plants, boilers, pressure vessels and piping operating at service temperatures up to 570°C. The weld metal maintains excellent toughness after step cooling treatment and provides high resistance to temper embrittlement due to its low residual impurity level (X-Bar <10). It offers excellent radiographic quality, a stable arc, low spatter, smooth weld bead appearance and easy slag removal. The weld metal features a very low diffusible hydrogen content (<4 ml/100 g), making it particularly suitable for heavy-section welds requiring high strength and superior weld quality. Preheat, interpass temperature and post weld heat treatment (PWHT) should be selected according to the applicable base material specification and relevant fabrication codes.
